La Bohalle is only a few kilometers away from the biggest town of the Maine et Loire region : Angers. La loire, the last wild river in Europe, is only 1 minute away from our houses. Get some really nice moments by having quick or long walks through it and discover the Val de Loire who's classified by the Unesco.
Among the "must see" monuments in our region, we can introduce to you the old town and the fortified castle of Angers, the tapisseries de l'Apocalypse, la collégiale Saint Martin, Saint Maurice's cathedrale, David d'Angers museum, contemporary tapestry museum, Cointreau museum, the Plessis Macé, Montriou's, Brissac's, Montgeoffroy's, Plessis Bourré's and Serrant'scastles.
Farther, about 150kms away, you'll be able to discover all the Western specialities of France. The Loire's castles are absolutely a must see as it's being said by a lot of people they are the most beautiful castles in France. Although you'll have access to some of the best french entertainment park with le grand Parc du Puy de Fou in Vendée and le Futuroscope in Poitiers. We swear it'll be entertaining for children to grand-parents. Do not forget that the Pays de La Loire region is also full of beaches. Come get some nice moments in Bretagne or Normandie.
Finally, really close to our gites, enjoy an initiation to the Anjous' and Saumurs' wines. Meet at theDomaine des Rochelles, to Saint Jean des Mauvrets, in order to taste some coteaux de l'Aubance and red Anjou. Same possibilities are being offered in the Domaine du Bablut where the farmer works in biodynamy. For white wines and champaign, our prefered domain are les Caves Langlois-Chateau in Saumur but also Grenelle's , Ackermann's, Bouvet-Ladubay's and Veuve Amiot's cellars.
